Asheville, NC 11-14-2010 thru 11-18-2010

Stayed at Taps RV, we gave it a 3 out of 5 fingers.
The accommodations were a bit tight.  We were fortunate the manager was available to direct us into our site.
The park was in a convenient area; its biggest plus.
$30/night.

Biltmore House at Christmas.
Jane did some research and found out that George Vanderbilt was rather worthless, lost most of his fortune building the house and had a string of bad investments. Never earned any money, but was excellent at spending it.

Buddie keeping tabs on the neighborhood.

Biltmore House is SPECTACULAR.

We toured during the day and came back for the Candle Light display in the evening.

Our camp site.
The forward heat pump died, should be covered by the Good Sam's insurance.  Also, there was a burning smell coming our from the CRV, still not sure what that is all about.

We tried out the washer/dryer - Buddie was mesmerized.

The Folk Art center was quite nice - mostly its a big store.

Hot Apple Cider at the Biltmore House Christmas Candle Light Tour.

Memorable places to eat: Cafe Ello, great sandwiches - Pomodoros, excellent lunch specials.  Jane's favorite, by far, was The Chocolate Fetish - I will admit their "handcrafted" chocolates were excellent.

Asheville has many art stores, lots of nice things to buy, not compatible with those trying to downsize.  The only thing we purchased, besides food, was catnip, we did not do much to help the local economy.
