Finally another post!!!!

We are at the Lazydays Campground in Seffner, Florida trying to patiently wait for our new RV to arrive.  We are getting a 2012 Winnebago and I cannot wait.

To make a long story short, we went to the Hershey RV show in September and saw the Tour and fell in love.  We did not commit at the show but talked on the way home and decided to go for it.  After negotating with several dealers we placed an order with Lazydays and now it is time for it to arrive.

Hope to show the pictures soon.

Asheville, NC 11-14-2010 thru 11-18-2010

Stayed at Taps RV, we gave it a 3 out of 5 fingers.
The accommodations were a bit tight.  We were fortunate the manager was available to direct us into our site.
The park was in a convenient area; its biggest plus.
$30/night.

Biltmore House at Christmas.
Jane did some research and found out that George Vanderbilt was rather worthless, lost most of his fortune building the house and had a string of bad investments. Never earned any money, but was excellent at spending it.

Buddie keeping tabs on the neighborhood.

Biltmore House is SPECTACULAR.

We toured during the day and came back for the Candle Light display in the evening.

Our camp site.
The forward heat pump died, should be covered by the Good Sam's insurance.  Also, there was a burning smell coming our from the CRV, still not sure what that is all about.

We tried out the washer/dryer - Buddie was mesmerized.

The Folk Art center was quite nice - mostly its a big store.

Hot Apple Cider at the Biltmore House Christmas Candle Light Tour.

Memorable places to eat: Cafe Ello, great sandwiches - Pomodoros, excellent lunch specials.  Jane's favorite, by far, was The Chocolate Fetish - I will admit their "handcrafted" chocolates were excellent.

Asheville has many art stores, lots of nice things to buy, not compatible with those trying to downsize.  The only thing we purchased, besides food, was catnip, we did not do much to help the local economy.

Going to our first Tiffin Rally

We are headed to Williamsburg tomorrow to meet some other Tiffin owners.  We are not taking the rv but will drive in our new toad.

Yes we traded in the Prius :( and dolly for a 2010 Honda CRV and blue ox towbar.  I had read that the dolly was a hassle but quickly figure out how right people were when we towed the Prius back from Florida.  Somethimes you just have to experience something for yourself!!

Looks like we will not get on the road full time until after Xmas but hopefully will have a few short trips before that.

Will keep you posted.

RV Picture

Here is our new home in the Tampa campground.

Our new home!!!

Picked up our 2007 Tiffin Phaeton from Tampa, Fl last Tuesday.  Stayed in an RV park for a couple days and then hit the road on Thursday and arrived in the Outer Banks (our home base) on Friday.  It was a long trip but Tom did an excellant job with the driving and Jane was a pretty good navigator!!

Will post pictures of  our new home soon.
